San Ignacio Lagoon Gray Whales
Picture yourself with a 50 foot gray whale, just inches away from you, looking you straight into the eyes. A mother whale bringing her newborn baby to your boat while she keeps a close watch. At the San Ignacio lagoon in Baja California these encounters happen on a daily basis during whale season. At Camp Tio Timo, Sharkdiver, together with Nautilus and Baja Expeditions, can make this a reality.
Once hunted to near extinction and feared due to their reputation for attacking whaling ships, gray whales have since increased greatly in population and instead of being feared are admired for the gentle giants they really are. San Ignacio Lagoon has been a prime location for responsible eco-tourists experiencing magical interactions with these awesome animals.
